Kendra Sheetz It seems like only yesterday we were writing about the First Official Punk the Burbs Fest out in the Chicago suburbs. But that was 2017 and, in a mere two year’s time, the West Chicago-based day of music has been transformed into two jam-packed days of Punk, Pop-Punk, and Ska from all over the Midwest and beyond.
This year’s all ages festival will take place at Basecamp Pub in Lisle, IL on Friday, September 20th and Saturday the 21st. Bay Area greats Tsunami Bomb will be headlining the first night. They’re back from their 2005 hiatus and haven’t played Illinois in 15 years! They’ll be playing all the fan favorites along with new songs from their upcoming album The Spine That Binds out this November via Alternative Tentacles. One of Chicago’s favorites, The Mr. T Experience, will be tackling the headlining spot for Night 2. This Punk/Rock group has been releasing albums on Lookout! and Rough Trade Records while also touring all over the world since 1985.
