Bart and the Brats is a kind of punk rock experiment started at the end of 2019 by French mad scientist Bart De Vraantijk in his attempt to turn dirt into gold. Recording all instruments himself, locked in Toulouse’s Swampland Studio with wizard of weird Lo’Spider behind the desk, he’s been able to manufacture an impressive 80 or so songs.

After releasing four-and-a-half LPs and nearly twice as many 7-inch records through labels such as Take The City, No Front Teeth, Big Neck, Juvenile Delinquent, Goodbye Boozy, and Sweet Time Records, the band caught the attention of London’s legendary Dirty Water Records. The label selected 16 of those tracks for a compilation LP that was released just two months ago.

Tomorrow, Lovettsville, Virginia’s Big Neck Records will be releasing a new four-track 7″, entitled Brats Being Brats, arriving just four days before the French national holiday. Today, we’re premiering a new single off that release. The song is called “Collision Course.”

Bart De Vraantijk shared the following about the new song:

“This one’s a classic ‘Stop and Think’ situation, when you experience that urge to jump off the train before its head hits the wall, when you’ve run out of arguments and just want off. I guess you know this one too! All this in a 1:30 burner that ranks amongst the fastest BATB songs (note the out of the world keyboard – it was played by Lo’Spider ! Kuddos to him !!).”
