Japan’s Waterslide Records Releases COVID-19 Compilation

Tokyo’s Waterslide Records has released a 24-track compilation of the best active Japanese Pop Punk bands, featuring some previously unreleased tracks.

Label head Kazu sums it up:

“Can’t believe this is 2020. Coronavirus (COVID-19) is everywhere around the world and totally changing our lifestyle.

When I was a kid, I thought 2020 would be fuckin’ future like cars flying into the air. Thought the future was an unbelievable place. Today, we don’t live on Mars yet, there’s no Doraemon, still war for money and fuckin’ racism, and now we’re afraid of unseen virus.

We are from Japan. We hope our music cheers you up for a while. We do hope we get through this situation. We hope our friends around the world have some fun with this compilation album and we will see you soon again. Let’s smile together again.

We can’t save the world, but music may save someone for a moment, like music always saves me when I’m down.”
