Today, were premiering the upcoming brand new EP from Nashville rock band Upset Boy and the Queens. The new release, titled Hissy Fit of Destruction, is a six-track offering that moves between ’90s alt-rock, riff-heavy grit, and jagged post- punk tension. It will officially be released tomorrow, Friday, June 12th via Sweet Cheetah Records.
Vocalist/guitarist Chris Watts shared the following about the new release:
“Hissy Fit of Destruction is about burnout, recovery, and the mess you make on the way to starting over, which is fitting because I wrote most of these songs while recovering from vocal nodules.
I will always love our first EP Silver Dreamer. It’s a snapshot of a brand new band just trying to get its feet off the ground while battling personnel changes and vocal injuries.
In a world of Suno and AI, we tried to make this record as human as possible. We recorded a few tracks live to tape with Starlin Browning at Dial Back Sound in Water Valley, MS, and did the rest here in Nashville at Greenland Studio with Joseph Lekkas of Palm Ghosts. We had a lot of fun writing and recording these tunes, and I think you can hear it.”
