Today, we’re premiering a brand new music video from Lansing, MI’s Dasterds for their power pop political anthem “Spoiled Rotten.” The track can be found on their 2019 release Cherophobia. The video was directed by Dan Hartley and cinematography credits go to Casey Cavenaugh, Peter Johnston, and Dan Hartley.
The band had the following to say about the new video:
“We wanted to make a video that captures the angst and anger so many of us are feeling about the current cultural and political climate right now, while also celebrating the simple things that bring us joy – like playing music together and sharing it with friends and community. The song ‘Spoiled Rotten’ itself is a sarcastic and playful commentary on the way young people are often blamed for everything, when in reality it’s old rich white men in positions of power who are screwing us all over. We wanted to make a video that was fun and full of energy, while also making sure the political relevance of the song came through in our message. A few of the highlights from the video are definitely burning a MAGA hat, seeing all our friends dance and sing along to our music, and seeing the inside of Cody’s throat!!
