Chicago singer-songwriter Jack Riedy and his backing band the Dealbreakers have released a new music video for their latest single, “My Friends Were Right.”
Known for blending indie rock with infectious hooks and energetic live performances, Riedy and the Dealbreakers continue that approach with their new release. The track tells the story of finding love at a house party, pairing a singalong chorus with a full horn section that gives the song an extra burst of energy.
Directed by Mary Riedy, the accompanying video captures the band performing to a packed basement crowd on camcorder, embracing the nostalgic aesthetic of the early-2000s pop-punk era that inspired the song. The DIY visuals complement the single’s upbeat, heartfelt feel while showcasing the band’s live energy.
