On today’s episode of Question The Answers, we’re featuring an interview with Bad Copy’s co-founder and main editor, Kendra Sheetz. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Kendra for several years now, and I can tell you for certain that you would be hard pressed to find a better tour guide for the city of Chicago. Kendra and I dig into the history of Bad Copy, some of the events that inspired her to start it, and discuss where the site is looking to go in the future.
Additionally, we spend a little time discussing the fallout of the Burger Records scandal along with the problems related to cancel-culture. She also shares a bit about what it’s like to be a Type-A personality, and we chat about some of her favorite albums, some of which may surprise you. We also chew over a few of her most beloved Midwest bands, including The Eradicator and Bev Rage and the Drinks.
Beyond being the editor and co-founder of Bad Copy, Kendra also runs a PR company called Type-A Promo. She is an incredibly supportive member of the independent music scene and can be found at many of the annual festivals that we know and love, like Fest, Riot Fest, La Escalera Fest, Punk The Burbs, and more.
Question The Answers Podcast is hosted by Andy Pohl, who is the founder of Sell The Heart Records and the guitar player for Tsunami Bomb. Every week we will be presenting a brand new episode featuring an individual that has made a contribution to the independent music scene in some way. Check back here on Wednesdays for a premiere of each episode, and you’ll also be able to find us on Spotify, Apple Music, and other audio podcast streaming services in the days following the initial premiere.
