It’s almost that time of year again, where thousands upon thousands of black t-shirt and jorts wearing music fans will descend upon Gainesville, FL in hopes of seeing their favorite bands and drinking just enough to not remember seeing anything all. While there are hundreds of well-known names on the Fest schedule this year, we wanted to showcase a handful of the bands who are heading down to Florida and playing for the very first time. So keep reading, check out all the bands in this series, and get to know some really great under the radar talent!
We chatted with Orlando, FL’s 0 Miles Per Hour about what they’re excited about this weekend, whose sets they want to see, and their tour of the Southeast after Fest!
Earlier this month, the band just released a new single entitled “Prague.” Give the new song a stream below and don’t miss 0 Miles Per Hour when they play How Bazar this weekend on Sunday, October 29th at 4:00PM.
Interview
How long has the band been playing music together?
The band has been together for around 5 years now. We learned how to play our instruments at the same time as each other, so naturally we started playing music together since we knew how to play.
Have you personally ever attended Fest before?
This is our first time getting to experience Fest. It’s always been on the bucket list but because of the age limits on a lot of the venues this will be the first time we would be able to attend.
What are you most stoked for during Fest weekend?
Much like our experience at SXSW, we’re looking forward to being in a city that will be completely taken over by music. Aside from watching sets from bands we love like Prince Daddy & the Hyena, Gel, and Microwave; we’re looking forward to discovering new bands that we can grow friendships with.
Ooo love this question. Our five headliners would be:
1.) Turnstile
2.) Pixies
3.) The Strokes
4.) Surf Curse
5.) A Title Fight reunion set
What does the band have coming up?
We hitting the Southeast this November.
What can we all look forward to from you in the near future?
We’re always getting into the studio and writing new music. We’d love to put out more music next year.
