It’s almost that time of year again, where thousands upon thousands of black t-shirt and jorts wearing music fans will descend upon Gainesville, FL in hopes of seeing their favorite bands and drinking just enough to not remember seeing anything all. While there are hundreds of well-known names on the Fest schedule this year, we wanted to showcase a handful of the bands who are heading down to Florida and playing for the very first time. So keep reading, check out all the bands in this series, and get to know some really great under the radar talent!
First on the roster is Buffalo-based trio On The Cinder. The band released an epic EP last year, entitled Sedentary Escape. Make sure to check them out on Friday, October 28th at Mom’s OG at 4:50PM.

Interview
How long has On The Cinder been a band?
Our first show was March 2013.
Have you attended Fest before?
No, we usually head out on tour in September but we’ve played Gainesville a bunch over the years.
What are you stoked for during Fest weekend?
Our band dad Tate Clare is a Gainesville local and he always shows us the best places to eat in town. Tyler is stoked for Fest Wrestling and we all can’t wait to see The Jukebox Romantics playing a KISS cover set in full make up. Also looking for alligators at Paynes Prairie.
What’s your very best story from a past tour?
We once got really drunk (go figure) and raided Chris Wollard’s practice space and played their instruments badly while another band tried to have a productive practice. We were not helpful.
Let’s say you’re booking the lineup of a festival that represents you as a band. What would the top 5 headliners be?
What does the band have coming up? What can we all look forward to from ya’ll?
We just finished recording our new full-length. We’re playing the Bovine Sex Club in Toronto November 11th, and March 25 is our 10 year anniversary show at Mohawk Place in Buffalo. More tours coming as well; we miss our Texas friends and hope we can make that work soon.
