I spent longer than I’d like to admit trying to make a grammar joke in the subjunctive, but it was a lost clause. OKAY, now that I’ve got that out of my system I can move on to telling you all my thoughts on the first full-length from the Seattle-based The Subjunctives. Sunshine and Rainbows isn’t actually out until November 22nd, which is crazy because I’m usually way behind and late with getting my reviews out. But you can pre-order it on Bandcamp!
The opening track, “Guinivere,” is quintessential Pop-Punk. It’s catchy and easy to nod your head along to. “At the Kraken” is obviously an instant hit with me. A tune about the world’s greatest Seattle-based punk dive bar? Yes, please. “Spend Your Time” has gotten stuck in my head a few times already. “Pass It On” kinda reminds me of Pop-Punk with just a sprinkle of The Spin Doctors and I mean that in a good way.
This LP is great for anyone who enjoys Pop-Punk. I give it 9 emojis out of 10!
