Kendra Sheetz Let’s cut the shit. Winter in Chicago fucking sucks. One of the only things to look forward to besides crippling despair that leaves you lifeless on the couch long enough to catch up on everything on Netflix is Lawrence Arms‘ War on X-mas.
This will be the third year that this three day festival pries me out of the house in mid-December. However, with the loss of Wicker Park’s Double Door, the shows have found new homes at Cobra and Bottom Lounge.
And now for the lineups!
The show on Thursday, December 14th will be at Cobra Lounge and the theme is “Holiday Cheer”. Fuck You, Idiot will open, followed by some of our favorite dudes The Ridgelands, and of course The Lawrence Arms.
The show on Friday, December 15th will be at Bottom Lounge and the theme will be “Midnight Mass”. Locals Blood People will open, followed by the almighty Teenage Bottlerocket, and the Arms will close it out.
The last show will be on Saturday, December 16th at Bottom Lounge and the theme will be “Sexy X-mas”. Sass Dragons open, followed by Nothington, then The Lawrence Arms, and the night will end with me blacking out after being convinced into drinking too much Rumple Mintze.
