New Jersey’s Banquets recently released a new single entitled “Episodes” which will be featured on the band’s upcoming album, Petty Relics, out October 17th via Black Numbers.
This single marks the first new music from the band since their 2015 full-length, Spit at the Sun. That album was meant to the third and final LP from Banquets. They played their final show in February of 2016 and the members went their separate ways, parting on good terms but with the understanding that the realities of life made it difficult to carry the banner any further. However, the band started practicing with the intention of playing The Fest in Gainesville in 2021, but the effort ultimately failed. The seed was planted, the spark was there, and the band started working on new material. With 11 new songs done, Banquets tapped longtime friend Andy Clarke (Luther, The Ruining) to produce at his studio in Philadelphia (Retro City Studios).
Guitarist/Vocalist Travis shared the following about the new single:
“The song ‘Episodes’ takes the form of a letter to my former self. It acts as a reflection of how I’ve hurt and let others down. I’ve squandered some truly remarkable moments by not being fully present.”
