Our buds in Devon Kay & the Solutions have released a new song which will quickly become the soundtrack of your summer. The new song, “252 Brighton Ave,” is the perfect mix of lyrical anxiety, grief, and sadness paired with energetic music.
The video, edited by none other than Mr. Devon Kay himself, showcases footage collected from the group’s 2019-2020 tours supporting the release of their 2019 release Yes, I Can’t. Many of the venues depicted are now facing financial strain, thus the band has included a list of venues from the tour to financially support:
Green Lantern – Lexington, KY
Concord Music Hall – Chicago, IL
Cobra Lounge – Chicago, IL
Milestone Club – Charlotte, NC
Civic Media Center – Gainesville, FL
Mortimer’s Bar – Minneapolis, MN
Cactus Club – Milwaukee, WI
X-Ray Arcade – Milwaukee, WI
Gabe’s – Iowa City, IA
Beardon Brickyard – Knoxville, TN
The Waiting Room – Naperville, IL
The National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) has stated that 90% of independent venues and festivals could cease to exist without federal funding to withstand the COVID-19 pandemic. Congress will soon be voting on the RESTART Act – legislation focused on bailing out the music industry. Take action now and check out the video for “252 Brighton Ave” below!
