Kendra Sheetz Chicago’s own Nora Marks has released a brand new single today entitled “Old Magick” via Take A Hike Records. The song marks an exciting new chapter in the band’s musical journey and builds on the experimentally dark direction the band began with their last release, The Buzzing of Flies EP (September 2022). The band cites inspiration from legendary groups such as Queens of the Stone Age while embracing the raw energy and emotional depth of punk and emo acts like At the Drive-In and Drug Church.
Vocalist and guitarist Michael Garrity explains:
“In many ways, this is an important refresh for the band. A chance to reimagine our writing style with more emphasis on collaboration. We’re really trying to play to everyone’s individual strengths and conjure a shared vision of what this band can be and, more importantly, what we all want it to be.”
