Kendra Sheetz Earlier this year, San Diego, California’s Hauntu released a limited-edition 7″ via Sell The Heart Records. The band is now back with a brand new single entitled “Sadist Sun.” Hauntu’s more recent songs are a product of pandemic isolation. They were a reaction to what’s become of the world these last few years. The weight, the panic, and the dread that living through post-pandemic capitalism and imperialism has placed upon humanity. There is a fine balance.
The band shared the following:
“‘Sadist Sun’ was originally written over two years ago and has gone through more changes than any other Hauntu song, including being transposed and rewritten in a completely different key than it was originally composed in. Something about it just wasn’t hitting right, but once we dropped the key down a half step everything clicked into place and it quickly became one of our favorite songs.”
