Punk Collective The Vagabonnies Announces SoCal Dates

The Vagabonnies Road Show – a collective of creative women who come together to bring a unique, collaborative show that includes music and comedy – has announce a string of Southern California tour dates. The Vagabonnies supergroup consists Jennie Cotterill and Stacey Dee of Bad Cop/Bad Cop, Poli van Dam and Jen Razavi of The Bombpops, Beebs of Beebs and Her Money Makers, Jen Carlson of Angry Amputees, Gillian McGhee of Hi Ho and Turnspit, and comedian Brandie Posey of Lady to Lady podcast.

They made their debut in February 2019, playing shows across California and Arizona, and will be playing Los Angeles, San Diego and Costa Mesa on this run. At the live shows, each performer plays original music and is supported up by the rest of the group playing a number of instruments — anything from backing vocals, acoustic guitar, drums, banjo, tambourine, egg shakers and even a washboard. Comedian Brandie Posey serves as an MC for the night and does short stand up sets to break things up.

Jennie Cotterill had the following to say about the collective:

“Women are amazing and supporting each other lifts everyone up. I’m super grateful for the opportunity to do something new and maybe a little intimidating with a crew of some of the coolest ladies around.”

Jen Razavi said:

“The Vagabonnies Road Show was one of the best and most positive experiences I’ve been a part of in a long time. Even a bar fight ended up being a good time with these ladies. Can’t wait to bring the Vagabonnies to more places!”

And here’s Gillian McGhee:

“This group fosters an environment that is constantly creative, positive, thoughtful, encouraging and full of laughter. I think we all push ourselves to go out of our comfort zones and not let the fear of failure rule anything that the Vagabonnies do. I can’t wait until we all pile into a van together again!”
