Mike & The Nerve Releases New Lyric Video for “Captive Audience”

Gainesville’s Mike & the Nerve has released a brand new lyric video (created by visual artist JD Pounds) for their song “Captive Audience.” Like many of his peers, Mike Llerena’s new music is inspired by the ongoing pandemic. The band’s latest single, the folk-punk tinged track “Captive Audience,” takes a look at the issues we’re facing this year from all sides.

Llerena had the following to say about the new song:

The song is about people from two different ideological perspectives experiencing the madness of 2020. A global pandemic, long-term quarantine, an economy in turmoil, sociopolitical unrest and a division that appears heightened because of it.

Check out the lyric video for “Captive Audience” below, listen to it on all major streaming platforms, and keep checking back for more from Mike & the Nerve!
