Gainesville, FL’s Mike & The Nerve has released a new music video for their song “Raiders of the Hopeless.” The new single was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Danny Clifton and Winston Goertz-Giffen at Pulp Arts in Gainesville. The cover art was done by Matty Taylor (a.k.a. Karmavoid) and the lyric video was done by Upa H.
Frontman Mike Llerena had the following to say about the new single:
“’Raiders of the Hopeless’ is a punk rock protest song for Americans living in 2026. It’s for people that have been made to feel captive in their own country, unwelcome in their own home, fearful and exhausted in the rise of authoritarianism.
The aforementioned “Raiders” refer to the political tyrants, billionaires, and self-appointed gestapo who have done nothing but harm the innocent people that actually “make America great”. In 2026, these people are our ‘Hopeless’.
It is my wish that the ‘Raiders’ will not prevail, and that ‘Hope’ can be found again.”
