Here’s some wonderful news on an otherwise shitty Monday. Don’t Panic Records & Distro is teaming up with Chicago-based podcast Friskie Morris & Friends and punk blog Change the Rotation to bring a new micro music festival to our fair city! The name is All Hands on Deck and it will all be going down on October 13th and 14th at Cobra Lounge.
Those behind All Hands on Deck are hellbent on making sure that the lineup rings true as a comprehensive representation of the entire punk community. Therefore, the fest will include bands with members of all races, genders, and orientations. Every year, the proceeds from the fest will be donated to a non-profit organization and this year’s proceeds will be going to Planned Parenthood of Illinois.
So who will be included in this fest’s epic first year lineup? Well, they’ve got The World/Inferno Friendship Society headlining the festival on Saturday night and Davey Dynamite & the Salt Creek Duo headlining Friday. Friday’s line up will also showcase the local punks in Fitness, The Breathing Light, Won’t Stay Dead and one more band TBA. Saturday, World/Inferno will be joined by Bombflower, The Bigger Empty [ex Alkaline Trio, Smoking Popes], The Cell Phones, The Kreutzer Sonata and three more bands TBA.
Grab your tickets now for Friday, for Saturday, or get a pass for both days! You can also RSVP and share the event on Facebook!
