Los Angeles-based Melodic Punk band Original Son has partnered with Bay Area label Sell The Heart Records to release their debut full-length album, Currents. The album, which will be released in February of 2022, follows a series of self-released EPs and singles from the band. Fans can expect the first single, entitled “Parasite,” to drop in mid-January.
Band member Johnny had the following to say about the news:
“We’re thrilled to partner with Sell The Heart Records for this release. They’ve got a killer roster, great ethics, and we’re stoked to get our music out there with them.”
Sell the Heart owner Andy Pohl added:
“Sell The Heart Records is VERY excited to be teaming up with Original Son on their new album. The album hits that sweet spot of fun Punk energy, catchy songwriting and great production… definitely the makings of a classic album! Though it’s being released in the winter, we’re sure it’ll be your summer album of 2022.”
Currents was produced by Tim Hutton and mixed by Chris Reynolds at Canyon Hut studios in Los Angeles in October 2021. Original Son will be spending early 2022 prepping for their full album release which includes three singles, and gearing up to spend their summer in full blown tour mode, with sights set on the festival tour circuit.
