Stephen DeFalco Chicago’s Friskie Morris & Friends has released a second volume to their Welcome to Chicagoland compilation series. The new comp features 25 bands including La Armanda, Flatfoot 56, The Brokedowns, Lucky Boys Confusion, and more that call the greater Chicago metropolitan area -commonly referred to as Chicagoland – home.
The goal of the compilation is to bring back the way many people used to discover Punk Rock music, through affordable compilations or samplers with as many songs as possible that highlight the diversity of the music community in Chicago. Think of this release as a Chicago area ‘Punk-O-Rama,’ ‘Punk Rock Is Your Friend,’ or ‘Give ‘Em The Boot’.
A limited run of 100 CDs is currently available on the Friskie Morris & Friends Bandcamp page with all proceeds going to Hope For The Day, a non-profit organization with a mission to achieve proactive suicide prevention by providing outreach and mental health education.
