Boston-based indie band Girl with a Hawk has released a new single in which they share how much they are in love with their friends. Their lively new power-pop single, “I’m In Love With My Friends,” is out today via Rum Bar Records.
The song rallies around chosen family and the ones that help get us through daily life. With a shoutout to The Plough & Stars, a Back Porch Carousel origin story, and guest vocals from members of Linnea’s Garden, Crow Follow, and Galaxy Cake, “I’m In Love With My Friends” raises a glass to our personal and professional networks.
Band member Linda Viens shared the following:
“‘I’m In Love With My Friends’ is an homage to one’s ‘ride or dies’; our true-blue friends who are there for us when the shit hits the fan, who make us laugh when things look dark, and who inspire us to be our best selves through all of life’s challenges. Romantic relationships don’t always survive those challenges, but authentic friendships usually do.”
