Brooklyn, NY has a new fuzzy, Power Punk band and we have quarantine to thank for that. Heavy Lag, which features members of Depressed Mode, Ellen and the Degenerates, and Up For Nothing, recently released debut demo early to raise funds for The Okra Project, a collective dedicated to improving the lives of Black Trans people by providing culturally specific meals, therapy, and resources.
The 2-song demo was self-recorded and released by the band – which includes Anthony Careccia (guitar, drum programming), Josh Gaon (vocals, guitar), and Greg Thornberg (bass) – and features additional vocals on the opening track “Dirt Pop” by Sammy Campanile of Answering Machine.
