We are so very excited to be premiering a brand new single from Brooklyn/Queens-based band Sadlands. The song, entitled “Bandits,” was recorded along with 11 others with Matt Schimelfenig of Gladie at The Bunk in the Pennsylvania Poconos over the summer. Band co-vocalist Samantha Campanile wrote the skeleton to “Bandits” during the height of the pandemic. It references how unhinged the depths of the internet can become when everyone is quarantined at home.
Sadlands is comprised by members of Answering Machine, Choke Up, and Ellen and the Degenerates. The group blends grunge, folk/alternative, and pop punk into uptempo ear worms. Dueling vocalists and songwriters Samantha Campanile and Jess Lane are joined by Louis Rabeno on bass and Harley Cox on drums.
The band shared the following quote by Scott, Sam’s upstairs neighbor after hearing rough mixes of the new single through the floorboards:
“It’s too loud and you need to turn it down so that I can go to sleep!”
Stream “Bandits” below and check out Sadlands if you’re heading down to Fest next weekend in Gainesville!
