Editor’s Note: Patrick has returned to writing about The Brokedowns instead of just random list like he submitted last time. You may proceed as usual.
To start off, I’m going to try to avoid writing about The Brokedowns because I seem to always bring them up in my reviews. Well, I guess I fucked that up already. Since I’m on the topic of The Brokedowns, I’m still hoping that they’ll learn “Borstal Breakout” by Sham 69 sometime; I think they would do a good job with it.
I recently thought about what I would write about if I were doing a review of a show that The Brokedowns had played. How do I mention The Brokedowns when I basically try to not mention any of the bands that I’m reviewing? Then I realized that I did do a review of a show that The Brokedowns played and I talked about Sidekick Kato. So here I am accidentally mentioning Sidekick Kato in a review about a show they played when I should just be writing about The Brokedowns. I’m going around in circles at this point. Let’s see if I can get myself out of this…
Holy shit, I just realized that the first time I saw The Brokedowns was November 13, 2009! What a coincidence, this being nine years later and I’m writing about The Brokedowns (while listening to Samhain, which has nothing to do with much at all and I’m really not sure why I even mentioned it but whatever. You’re probably just looking at the photos anyway). An interesting fact: as much as I love The Brokedowns, I know very few of their song titles. Okay, that was a lie. I do know their song titles except for their new album, Sick of Space. That’s not really my fault though because I’ve been listening to a version that I got before the album was released and it was only one track with no information.
So I’m only up to 415 words and for some reason I think Bad Copy wants me to get up to 500 words for each show review (Editor’s Note: This was never specified. AT ALL). I could be completely wrong. It could be more, it could be less, or maybe there isn’t even a minimum amount of words required for a review (Editor’s Note: Correct). Once I get to 500 words I will stop writing because that’s
Here’s what you came for…the photos of Sidekick Kato, Apocalypse Hoboken, Haymarket Riot and OR that I took at Chop Shop in Chicago, Illinois on November 3, 2018.
The Chop Shop is yuppiest club in Wicker. Basically stripped the art out of Wicker Park and put it behind glass for people to look at as they get their lattes, and $100 steaks.
This diet punk band is filled with shitty band members. Todd Pot should be cancelled.
