We are fortunate to be joined this week by Jesse Townley. Also known in the scene as Jesse Luscious, he is a veteran of the Punk scene, having been a member of The Criminals (Lookout Records), The Gr’ups, Blatz (Alternative Tentacles), and The Frisk (Adeline Records). Currently, he performs in The Pathogens and Scene Killers.
Jesse moved to the East Bay Area as a young man and become entrenched in the thriving Punk scene surrounding the 924 Gilman Street Project. Over the years, he has been a volunteer at the club, and an active member of the Berkeley rent board. In addition to all of this, he has also been a DJ on various radio stations for years, and a reviewer for magazines like Maximum RocknRoll.
Currently, Jesse lives in the U.K. and works as a project and sales coordinator for Packaged Sounds, a multimedia manufacturing plant, which is a great fit for him having spent many years working as a release manager at Fat Wreck Chords, Alternative Tentacles, and Lookout Records.
Needless to say, Jesse Townley has done and seen it all, and has a lot of great insight and stories to share about his experiences within the Punk scene… tune in to hear some of them.
