Punk Rock Bowling is almost here and we wanted to do something to help celebrate one of the biggest parties in Vegas. So we fired off a lightening interview round with a number of bands who are playing this year’s famous desert festival.
We chatted with Mike from The Dodges about all things Vegas. The San Diego-based band will be playing a club show at the Citrus Roof Deck at the Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino on Saturday the 25th along with Frankie Stubbs, Tiltwheel, and Stza Crack & Brad Logan.
In case you have been deep in hiding for the last six or so months: Punk Rock Bowling begins on Thursday, May 23rd with club shows and the main stage events begin on Saturday, the 25th. The party will continue all through the weekend into Monday, May 27th. Three days passes and single day passes are still on sale now! And a number of the club shows still have tickets available but limited, so grab your pass today!
Interview
Have you played PRB before?
What is the #1 thing you MUST do every time you’re in Vegas?
Vegas must dos:
I’ll admit, I enjoy slot machines a little too much… the more flashing lights and loud sounds, the better. Also, roller coasters. And I’ve wanted to see Penn and Teller for years. And Alex wants to shout obnoxiously in various accents on Fremont Street.
What bands are you most excited to see or play alongside on this year’s lineup?
What’s the grossest item to eat from a Vegas buffet?
Hard to say. I pretty much only eat lobster and crab at Vegas buffet prices. Haven’t even tried much else. Gotta avoid those carbs though, they’re a scam.
What’s your ‘go to’ gambling game?
SLOTS ’cause I don’t like talking to people at the tables. Yeah the odds suck. And they take no skill. But the seats sometimes rumble, and who doesn’t like that?
If your band had a bowling team, what would the team name be?
Our bowling name would most certainly be the second choice band name, “The Real Dads.”
