Today, we’re very, very proud to be premiering a reworked track from Little Teeth. The Munich, Germany-based band has released a piano rendition of their song “Bender,” which can be found on their September 2019 release Redefining Home (Gunner Records, Say-10 Records).
The song was written about Johnny Wilson (aka Johnny Bender), a prominent figure in the Colorado Punk scene, bassist of The Gamits, and creator of the website For the Love of Punk – the site that a number of us at Bad Copy had a hand in one way or another. Johnny took his life in July of 2018 after a long battle with severe depression and addiction. To those of us who knew him, you can actually hear Johnny’s voice in the haunting lyrics sung by Cory Call.
Normally, this is the point in the article where we tell the reader to “listen to the song below and keep checking back for more updates.” But that doesn’t seem to fit here. So please enjoy this piano rendition of “Bender,” reach out to your friends and family and remind them that you love them and miss them, and please be kinder to yourself. You are loved. We need you here.
