Oakland, Calif. queer punk band Middle-Aged Queers has released the first single, “Glizzie’s Bangin’’, off their upcoming album. The new album will be titled Theatre of Shame and will be released via Sell the Heart Records and Engineer Records.
The band writes:
“It started off at a show in Sacramento with a pair of friends in coordinated hot dog and mustard costumes, joined by a spattering of young people in clown makeup. A local tradition, perhaps? No. The phenomena followed us from coast to coast. And while the occasional banana or other food costume will make an appearance, a hot dog in the pit seems to be the most frequent sighting. We have no idea why. We prefer it to remain a mystery.”
In case you’re still in the dark about the band has, for five years, won the title of “Best Live Band” by the Bay Area Reporter… Middle-Aged Queers features ex-members of the Cost (Lookout Records), Fang (Boner Records), the Insaints (Maximumrocknroll Records), and the Shondes (Exotic Fever Records). They’re a Bay Area “supergroup” of seasoned punks on a mission to make punk rock gay again.
“Glizzie’s Bangin’” will be available on all streaming platforms tomorrow, February 13th. But you can stream it below now! Check it out!
