Oakland, CA’s Middle-Aged Queers have released their second single of the year, a spirited punk cover of Taylor Swift’s hit “Anti-Hero.” The cover will be featured on the band’s forthcoming album, Greatest Hits, set to drop May 1st. The album is a collection of previously unreleased cover songs recorded over the past four years, ranging from contemporary pop classics to deep cuts from punk rock past.
Lead vocalist Shaun Osburn says:
“Covering ‘Anti-Hero’ is part of our multi-tier plan to lure Taylor Swift fans to punk rock. Not only will we be known as musical ambassadors, we can also appropriate that big Swiftie money to further the gay agenda.”
To celebrate the release of Greatest Hits, the band will host a record release party on Saturday, April 18th at Ivy Room in Albany, CA, where fans can experience the new single live along with other favorites.
