Yesterday, Bad Cop / Bad Cop released a new music video for their song “Simple Girl.” The track was originally released back in April as the first single off their upcoming album The Ride, which will be released on June 19th via Fat Wreck Chords.
The music video is quarantine-friendly and features the band performing the track with the help of tons of friendly female faces singing along.
Vocalist/Guitarist Stacey Dee had the following to say about the new video:
“The video for ‘Simple Girl’ has got so much heart, I literally well up with tears every time I watch it. I‘m so grateful to all the powerful women who told their stories with us. What a true testament to the song!”
Jennie Cotterill, Bad Cop’s other vocalist/guitarist said:
“Somewhere between Sinatra’s ‘My Way’ and Meredith Brooks’ ‘Bitch,’ Stacey’s distinctive voice, delivery, and honesty are a new take on a powerful message: I’m complicated. I’m human. I refuse to feel ashamed or a need to change myself in order to be loved. I love myself for all that I am. This is a song that I needed to hear and am so honored to play.”
