Kendra Sheetz Tomorrow, Chicago’s Triple Fast Action will be releasing a massive self-titled collection of 37 rare and unreleased tracks. But today, we’re premiering a new track, entitled “Kickin’ Up a Rattle,” off that amazing album. The collection will be released via Forge Again Records as a 32 song triple gatefold 3xLP (with 5 bonus digital tracks) and 37 song 2xCD.
Twenty of these tracks were recorded by the band in their practice space in late 1994 while recording demos for their debut album, Broadcaster, on Capitol Records. They were transferred from the original 1/2“ tapes and remixed by John Agnello (Dinosaur Jr., Red Kross, Sonic Youth). The rest come from various studio sessions and radio appearances, and the entire collection was mastered by Carl Saff.
Triple Fast Action formed in January 1993, played their first show at Chicago’s Cubby Bear and, in 1998, played their final show at Chicago’s Metro. The band quickly earned a great deal of notoriety among Windy City tastemakers for their extraordinary musicianship and graceful yet raw performances and was one of many Chicago area acts signed to Capitol Records during the multi-year label frenzy that also snatched up bands like the Smashing Pumpkins, Smoking Popes, Veruca Salt, Hum, Menthol, among others.
