Long Island natives Iron Chic played a show in Brooklyn last Friday, July 21st. Since I was out there visiting family, I decided to use the show to get away and check out the punk scene on the East Coast and it did not disappoint! I wasn’t sure what to expect while watching the three openers – Weed Hounds, Clique, and The Obsessives – the bands were great and there were a few people dancing and singing along. There were only about fifteen other people in the small upstairs room of the fancy Brooklyn Bazaar when I got there, but the room filled up before Iron Chic took the stage. A pit opened up for the first song and it seemed like the whole audience knew every word! The scene in New York may not be as big as it is in Southern California, but it definitely has just as much heart!
